(December 17, 2020) Led by Professor Chen Guang from the School of Public Administration and Politics and Law of Southwest Jiaotong University, the research report "Comprehensive Innovation and Reform Pilot Zone Construction and Mixed Ownership Reform Practice research on Scientific and Technological Achievements in Colleges and Universities" won the second prize of the 8th Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award (Humanities and Social Sciences) of the Ministry of Education. It is also the first time that our school won the second prize in the selection of Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award (Humanities and Social Sciences) of the Ministry of Education.
It is reported that the Outstanding Achievement Award of scientific Research in institutions of higher learning (Humanities and Social Sciences) of the Ministry of Education is the most credible and influential heavyweight award in the field of humanities and social sciences in China. In order to thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important statements on education and philosophy and social Sciences, and fully implement the opinions on Accelerating the Construction of Philosophy and Social Sciences with Chinese Characteristics issued by the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Education organized and carried out the evaluation of the 8th Academy Of Higher Education Award for Outstanding Achievements in Scientific Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) in accordance with the Measures for Awards for Outstanding Achievements in Scientific Research in Institutions of Higher Learning (Humanities and Social Sciences). A total of 1,539 achievements (including those of Universities in Hong Kong and Macao) have been awarded prizes after expert evaluation, public publicity, review and approval by the Award committee and the Ministry of Education. Among them, there were 1241 awards for works and papers, including 152 first prizes, 783 second prizes and 306 third prizes. There were 77 consulting service report awards, including 10 first prizes, 47 second prizes and 20 third prizes. 20 awards for popular reading books; 201 youth achievement awards.

The reform of the ownership of job-related scientific and technological achievements is an important reform experience of Sichuan Province as a demonstration area of innovation. In recent years, Professor Chen Guang's research team has been tracking the comprehensive innovation and reform pilot zone construction in Sichuan Province and the ownership reform of scientific and technological achievements based on posts for a long time, forming a series of more than 10 papers, 5 important research projects, 2 directives from provincial and ministerial leaders, and 2 awards from other provincial and ministerial levels, making academic contributions to the promotion of mixed ownership reform of scientific and technological achievements based on posts in Sichuan and the whole country.
