The Final Round of The 9th Young Teachers’Teaching Competition Was Held Successfully

On December 5, 2019, the final round of the 9th Young Teachers’ Teaching Competition was held at the No.4 Teaching Building of Xipu Campus of Southwest Jiaotong University. The judges of this competition are experts and professors from different colleges throughout the school. After the preliminary contest and the semi-final contest, our school has four teachers (teacher Liu Xin, Zhang Jing, Yang Yifan and Li Hongwei). In the final, each teacher will have 20 minutes of teaching presentation and teaching reflection time, and will be evaluated by on-site judges.

Liu Xin, the teacher of our school, was the first one on the stage. Liu pointed out that the transformation of China now facing problem now, so as introducing the concept of intellectual property. Through the case of Samsung and Apple's intellectual property, Liu demonstrated the three basic attributes of intellectual property, exclusiveness, territoriality and timeliness, and explained the basic position of countries and enterprises in the intellectual property strategy. He suggested that our country should move closer to both ends of the “Smiling Curve”. Liu's overall lecture is based on the idea of “case phenomenon-case essence-theoretical abstraction”. In addition to looking forward to the geographical in-depth excavation of intellectual property, the judges also held a positive attitude towards Liu's rigorous logic.

The fourth teacher is Zhang Jing, whose teaching display is mainly “Chunqiujueyu” (convicting cases with Confusianism). First of all, she began to elaborate its connotation fromZuo Zhuan(a Commentary on Spring and autumn annals by Zuo Qiuming) andRam Zhuan(Spring and Autumn Biography Gongyang). Through the case of “the son mistakenly injured his father”, she showed that the lack of legal provisions, conflicts between legal provisions and conflicts between law and ethics these three applicable conditions. After investigating its cause and influence and fully combining with the reality, we draw the conclusion that attaching importance to the combination of reason and law as well as the development of the rule of morality and the rule of law. In general, her teaching content is rich and takes into account many aspects, which is recognized by the judges.

In the afternoon, Teacher Yang Yifan showed “interdisciplinary insight of aging” with the theme of “loneliness”. He talked about the causes of loneliness from the practical effect of loneliness and the population aging problem, and then analyzed the reasons why loneliness is difficult to solve. Based on this, the methods to reduce aging and the solving principles of aging problem are introduced. At the same time, he also drew lessons from the innovation of Wanqingyuan in Jiuli campus to put forward a realistic way to solve the aging problem. Teacher Yang is clear and methodical in reasoning. The questions raised are thought-provoking and the solutions described are impressive. His presentation impressed the judges.

Then, Mr. Li interpreted “game theory” and explained two problems in society from many aspects: coordination and cooperation. In this regard, he stressed that the key to solving these two social problems is to find the stability and balance of strategic interaction and the main means of its realization. The judges praised his in-depth knoewledge. They also appreciated the detailed explanation and profound connotation.

In the personal teaching display, the four young teachers of our college will play their own unique teaching style and personal charm to the extreme. Real celebrities are in their best presence. The small podium brings together the best of all. This competition is not only a window for the exchange of ideas, but also a platform for reflection.It is both tolerant of inadequacy and encouraging.

This activity not only let us appreciate the style of teachers in our school, but also promote the diversified development of teaching.
