Southwest Jiaotong University hosted the firstnational comprehensive training program with UN

April 26, Global Gender and Economic Policy Management Initiativeprogram(GEPMI) stared in Chengdu, which is co-hosted by United Nations Development Programme(UNDP), the Chengdu Municipal Party Committee Organization Department, Chengdu Government Foreign Affairs Office, Southwest Jiaotong University(SWJTU) and Nordic International Management Institute(NIMI).


Zhang Youyun, the executive vice president of the China Association of Employment PromotionSpecial and adviser to International Labour Organization(ILO), Christina,adviserof UNDP Bureau for Development Policy, New York headquarters of global governance, Gu Qing, director of Department ofpoverty reduction, equality, democracy ofUNDP China office, Chengdu Government Foreign Affairs Office,LiLi, Vice president of the Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries in Chengdu, He Yunan, the vice-chancellor of SWJTU, all of them attended this meeting.


GEPMI in Chengdu divided into two parts:short courses and seminars. Participants are from local government cadres, members of social organizations and business leaders. Lectures involved most12 critical areas of gender and economic management. All experts are from the United Nations and the Southwest Jiaotong University professors.


This program is another new and important try of education and training of cadres and international cooperation and exchange in Chengdu, but also to improve further exchanges and cooperation between Chengdu and UNDP or other international organizations. This alsohas taken a wonderful step of the international development of Southwest Jiaotong University.
